Cronin Civil and Rail handles commercial and residential site development across western Pennsylvania. We take sites from raw dirt to finished grade and everything in between. We handle grading, utilities, paving, concrete, landscaping and underground utilities, among other services. One contractor, one schedule, no gaps between trades.
Grading sets the foundation for everything that follows. We grade and move dirt on a large scale for commercial developments, housing plans, and municipal projects. If you need cutting and filling, rough or fine grading, soil stabilization, or any other modifications to the landscape, we’ve got you covered. If the site isn’t right at this stage, nothing built on top of it will be either.
Every development has to manage the water that hits it. We install complete stormwater management systems, like detention and retention basins, storm sewers, inlet structures, underground storage, and outlet controls. All of it is engineered to meet local MS4 requirements and keep your project on the right side of permitting.
We install the full range of underground utilities: sanitary sewer, waterline, gas, and electric conduit. To this end, Cronin provides trenching, pipe laying, backfill, compaction and testing, with our crews running multiple utility types on the same site, which means fewer contractors, fewer scheduling conflicts, and one team responsible for everything below grade.
A parking lot or access road is only as good as what’s underneath it. We handle subgrade prep, stone base, grading for drainage, and asphalt paving. From small commercial lots to full roadway construction, we build surfaces that hold up under traffic and weather without coming apart in two winters.
Your parking lot is not complete until the people parking there can use it. We make curbs, sidewalks, ADA ramps, aprons and pads tailored to your lot. We pour and finish concrete flatwork for commercial and residential sites. It’s detailed work that has to be level, clean, and code-compliant. We get it right the first time because nobody wants to tear out concrete and start over.
Existing sites need work too. We handle infrastructure upgrades for developed sites that are expanding, repurposing, or just aging out. We’re equipped and ready to perform utility replacements, regrading, drainage corrections and new access points.
Once the heavy civil work wraps, the site still needs to look like something. We handle finish grading, topsoil placement, seeding, and planting for the purposes of erosion control, slope stabilization, and green space installation. The landscaping isn’t an afterthought for us. It’s the last phase of the same job, completed with the same attention to detail.
Beyond landscaping, we also provide the human touch, including benches, lighting, signage pads, fencing, retaining features, gathering areas.
